Driftwood, pebbles and beach hut for an urban ‘seaside’ escape

This garden was inspired by a collection of white cobbles, which the garden’s owner, an interior designer, kept on her mantelpiece in her refurbished Victorian Villa.

The garden has a fresh, beach theme and is based a variety of contrasting textures. Simple rectangles of lawn are edged with timber and a cobbled path, offering an inviting amble from the decked seating area by the house, through planting to the back. Planting is mostly in blues and whites with fleshy, succulent plants and swaying grasses emerging through pebbles.   Raised old sleeper beds to the rear retain seaside style planting, which flank a bespoke garden shed painted in beach hut blue.  Matching pots are filled with white Agapanthus.
