"Luxuriant London garden works in perfect harmony with the contemporary home", Homes & Gardens

The owners wanted a garden to complement but also to be the antithesis of their new, architect designed house.  With two teenage boys, lots of space was needed for games.

An informal, stony path leads round the house through exotic, shade loving architectural planting to a boardwalk, which runs through lush ferns and Acers, drawing the eye to the sunny, prairie style garden. The design is based on a ‘strictly informal’ theme.  Linear geometry reflects the lines of the house. The terrace is laid with crisp cut York stone and decking.  The lawn and planting beds are delineated with rustic oak sleepers.  Grids and rectangles restrain billowing grasses and perennials. Narcissi and burnt orange and aubergine tulips welcome the spring and are quickly followed by fresh blues, purples and whites in early summer before Terracotta, burnt orange and Moroccan reds take centre stage later in the year.
